2 Days on Irish Immigration and Song, 2 Days on Constellations for Suicide: A Constellations Masterclass

July 8 - July 12

Sarah is bringing Irish song specialist and constellation facilitator Brendan O’Brien for a double-header constellation workshop outside Portland, Oregon.

  • The first part of the workshop is a two-day exploration of migration, in particular Irish-North American migration, but everyone is welcome, every person who wants to explore migration in the history of their family.
  • The workshop will revolve around the beautiful immigration/migration songs Brendan has collected, will sing to us, and teach us to sing.
  • The last 2 days will be an opportunity to experience and learn Brendan’s groundbreaking and beautiful constellation-based support of families of people who have died from suicide.
  • In the immigration workshop, master facilitators will be able to gather a deeper sense of the intensity of loss and hope in immigration that will support their work, particularly in North America where almost everyone has had to leave the land of their ancestors’ birth.
  • In the suicide workshop, master facilitators will be able to gather new tools and forms for their work with clients who have had suicide in their family histories.
  • This event is part of a constellations masterclass series, but can be attended as a stand-alone as well.

The retreat will be at the Alton L. Collins Retreat Center, near Portland, Oregon.

For people registering for retreats less than two weeks in advance of the start of the retreat, the Alton Collins Retreat Center cannot guarantee that they can support special diet requests.

Workshop Format

  • This event is an in-person retreat/intensive that stretches over 5 calendar days, starting with a dinner on day one, an evening session, three days of work from 9am until 9pm, and then a completion morning session on day 5, ending with lunch.
  • For those participants with US passports, we will have a day of constellations at the prison before the workshop begins when Coffee Creek permits this, at no charge to participants.

This event can be attended as a stand-alone if desired, but is intended to be part of a year-long Masterclass Series which allows for constellation facilitators to deeply integrate relational neuroscience into constellation facilitation, and to have new learning about how to leverage solid understanding about how brains work and how we heal from trauma into traditional constellation work, even if the relational neuroscience is never explicitly referenced with clients.

How Much Does it Cost?

The full cost includes tuition + room + board, so depending on your options the price varies:

DOUBLE-OCCUPANCY  Tuition = $750 + double room & board $465, total $1215.

SINGLE-OCCUPANCY  Tuition = $750 + single room & board $585, total $1325.

$500 of your tuition payment is non-refundable and non-transferable, the remainder of your payments are refundable up to 32 days before the program start date. Room and board payments are due 45 days before program start and are only refundable up to 32 days before the program start date.

Note that signing up for the masterclass series (all 5 retreats) allows a less-expensive per-workshop cost, and provides the opportunity for deep personal growth and healing! Spending a year immersed in this learning provides a solid foundation for self-compassion, deep play, the capacity for endless surprise with the infinity of the human soul, and movement into wonder.
