Constellating The Shadow: A Constellations Masterclass

September 7 - September 14

What is it that we do not know about ourselves?

  • What happens if we invite the shadow into our constellation space, the parts of ourselves that are more hungry than we are comfortable with, angrier than we can bear, more judgmental, blaming, contemptuous, helpless or frozen than we wish to be?
  • How can we turn toward this unknown part with gentleness and acceptance. This is not comfortable work, but it brings great self-compassion in its wake.
  • Participants will alternately experience Sarah as constellator, and also will experience participant-constellators who will begin to explore constellating with the help of relational neuroscience.
  • This event is part of a constellations masterclass series, but can be attended as a stand-alone as well.

The retreat will be at the Alton L. Collins Retreat Center, near Portland, Oregon.

Workshop Format

This event is an in-person retreat/intensive that stretches over 8 calendar days, starting with a dinner on day one, an evening session, three days of work from 9am until 9pm, and then a completion morning session on day 8, ending with lunch.

  • Each day we alternate between short lectures on neuroscience and constellation concepts with mini-constellations to explore and practice the concepts, and then we do large group constellations. If you’re a visual learner you can imagine small islands of didactic learning, surrounded by slightly larger islands of small-group learning, and then interspersed with large, full-group constellations.
  • The large group constellations are alternately run by Sarah and by student constellators (participants in the masterclass series) with Sarah’s support.
  • Both being a facilitator and being a seeker happen by lottery, this not all participants will have a chance to be a seeker or a facilitator.
  • For those participants with US passports, we will have a day of constellations at the prison before the workshop begins when Coffee Creek permits this, at no charge to participants.

This event can be attended as a stand-alone if desired, but is intended to be part of a year-long Masterclass Series which allows for constellation facilitators to deeply integrate relational neuroscience into constellation facilitation, and to have new learning about how to leverage solid understanding about how brains work and how we heal from trauma into traditional constellation work, even if the relational neuroscience is never explicitly referenced with clients.

How Much Does it Cost?

The full cost includes tuition + room + board, so depending on your options the price varies:

EARLY-BIRD DOUBLE-OCCUPANCY (BY JAN 15 with non-refundable deposit) Tuition = $800 + room & board $805, total $1605.

EARLY-BIRD SINGLE-OCCUPANCY (BY JAN 15 with non-refundable deposit) Tuition = $800+ room & board $1015, total $1815.

Note that signing up for the masterclass series (all 5 retreats) allows a less-expensive per-workshop cost, and provides the opportunity for deep personal growth and healing! Spending a year immersed in this learning provides a solid foundation for self-compassion, deep play, the capacity for endless surprise with the infinity of the human soul, and movement into wonder.
