What is happening when our upper lip pulls back from our teeth, when we have a bitter taste in our mouths, when nausea starts appearing around the edges of our experience, and when we no longer have a desire to eat? It may well be that we are experiencing something in our environment as invasive, intrusive, or a violation. When we may be feeling the natural body response to such actions: Disgust. The claiming of disgust is a powerful movement toward healing and has many implications for understanding our world both systemically and personally.
